1. Laxative products, which is most of it
Capsules, tablets, sachets and tea. The powder is milled to a mesh the filling equipment can handle, blended against a tested strength figure, and dosed to a label claim. This is the bulk of global demand and the only use with a solid evidence base.
Onset is roughly 6 to 12 hours, so consumer products are almost always positioned as evening products.
2. Herbal tea blends
Senna appears in detox teas, slimming teas and bedtime blends. The powder is less common here than the cut leaf, because a fine powder dusts and can pass through the bag paper, but it shows up in instant and sachet formats where the material dissolves rather than steeps.
Blenders usually pair it with something carminative, fennel or peppermint, to soften the cramping that senna alone can cause.
3. Traditional medicine preparations
In Ayurveda and Unani practice the leaf is used more widely than the modern evidence supports. It appears in compound formulations for digestion, and in preparations applied to the skin and scalp.
These are real parts of a long tradition. They are not the same thing as a demonstrated clinical benefit, and a brand selling into the EU or the US cannot make them as claims. We tell buyers that plainly, because a claim that gets a product pulled costs everyone more than the order was worth.
4. Hair and scalp preparations
Senna powder is sometimes sold as neutral henna or colourless henna. This is a naming problem worth clearing up: it is not henna, it is a different plant entirely, and it deposits no colour. It is used as a conditioning treatment and as a base in mixed powders.
5. Veterinary and animal use
A small share goes into veterinary preparations, on the same mechanism and for the same purpose. Volumes are modest but the specification is usually stricter on cleanliness than the human tea trade.

The uses that are not real
Fat loss. Senna moves water and stool. Neither is fat, and both come back. Marketing it this way is also the fastest route to a regulatory problem in most export markets.
Detoxification. The liver and kidneys handle that continuously. Emptying the bowel does not clear anything from the bloodstream.
Long term digestive maintenance. Senna is a short term intervention. Continuous use past about two weeks without medical advice is exactly what guidance warns against.
