Who sources this ingredient
PKM-1, and why the variety is on the spec sheet
Moringa is not a single commodity: yield and leaf quality vary a lot by variety, and PKM-1 is the cultivated selection grown for leaf rather than for pods. We state it on the specification because a buyer comparing two moringa quotes without knowing the variety is not comparing the same thing. Protein runs at ~25% on a dry basis and vitamin C at ~220mg per 100g, both stated per lot.
Shade dried, spray dried and freeze dried
How moringa leaf is dried decides what survives, and the three grades exist for that reason. Standard leaf powder is shade dried, which protects colour and most of the nutrient profile at a sensible cost. Spray dried is for buyers who need a soluble powder for beverages. Freeze dried preserves the most and costs the most, and is specified where a vitamin C figure is doing the selling. Choosing on price alone here is how buyers end up disappointed by colour.
Nutraceutical, food and cosmetic buyers
Nutraceutical brands take powder and extract on the protein and micronutrient profile. Food and beverage buyers take spray dried for solubility. Cosmetic formulators take leaf powder and extract for green-label formulations. All three ship from the same GMP certified processing in Rajasthan, with organic available and a Certificate of Analysis on every lot, milled to the mesh your line calls for.
