Who sources this ingredient
2.5% and 5% withanolides, water soluble and full spectrum
The withanolide percentage by HPLC is what a supplement label claim rests on, and 2.5% and 5% are the two standard grades in the trade. Water soluble is specified for beverages and effervescent formats where a standard extract would not disperse. Full spectrum is for formulators who want the whole root profile rather than a concentrated marker. MOQ is 10 kg, which is set low deliberately: an extract buyer usually wants a bench trial before committing a production run.
Withaferin A quantified, heavy metals under 10ppm
Two figures decide whether an extract clears a buyer's incoming QC. Withaferin A is quantified per lot rather than simply declared present, because some specifications cap it as well as requiring it. Heavy metals are tested by ICP-MS and held below 10ppm, which is the threshold most nutraceutical buyers write into a purchase specification. Both are on the COA, and the COA goes out with the quote.
The substitution that shows up in a cheap quote
Ashwagandha extract can be made from root or from leaf, and leaf reads higher on withanolides at lower cost. Most pharmacopeial and supplement specifications call for root. If you are comparing quotes and one is materially cheaper at the same stated withanolide percentage, ask which part was used before assuming you have found a better price. Our part used is stated on the COA, and our root powder line comes from the same material.
