What is inside senna tea bags
Usually just cut senna leaf, sometimes with pods, and often blended with something else. A single ingredient senna bag is less common than people assume.

Those additions are not padding. Senna on its own causes cramping in a meaningful share of users, and a carminative in the blend measurably reduces complaints. Every established senna tea brand does some version of this.
Why the cut size decides everything
This is the part that costs new buyers money.
Tea bag machines need a fine, even cut. Too coarse and the material bridges and blocks the filling head, or the bags fill unevenly by weight. Too fine and it dusts, which fouls the machine and can pass through the bag paper into the cup as sediment.
The window is narrower than most people expect, and it varies by machine. A grade that runs perfectly on one line can jam another.
Why the consumer controls the dose, not you
A tablet holds a measured dose. A tea bag holds a weight of leaf, and how much of the active compound reaches the cup depends on how long the drinker steeps it and how hot the water was.
A three minute steep and a fifteen minute steep from the identical bag produce very different results. That is why cramping is reported more with teas than with tablets: people treat it like an ordinary herbal infusion and let it sit.
The practical consequence for a brand is that brewing instructions are part of the product, not decoration. Print a time. Two to three minutes to start is the sensible instruction, and it prevents more complaints than any ingredient change.
Strength, and why a range is not enough
Senna strength moves with crop and season. Two lots of identical weight can differ enough that a consumer notices.
A brand dosing to a consistent effect has to blend against a tested figure for the lot in front of it, not against a brochure range. This is the difference between a supplier who tests every lot and one who quotes a specification sheet, and it shows up in the second shipment rather than the first.
Bag material, briefly
Heat sealable filter paper is standard and cheapest. Nylon and PLA pyramid bags carry a premium look and allow a coarser cut, which is one way around a dusting problem. PLA is compostable and increasingly asked for in the EU. Pyramid bags need a coarser grade than paper bags, so tell your supplier which format you are filling.
Labelling, and the claims to avoid
Senna teas attract regulatory attention because of how they have historically been marketed. Detox, cleanse, slimming and flat tummy claims are the ones that get products pulled in the EU and the US.
Position it for occasional relief of constipation, print a steeping time, print a duration limit, and name who should not use it. That is both the compliant position and the commercially durable one, because a product that causes fewer bad experiences generates fewer complaints and more repeat purchases.
