Who sources this ingredient
Vana, Rama and Krishna holy basil
Tulsi is supplied in three named types and they are not simply cosmetic variants. Rama is the common light-leaved type and the volume item. Krishna is the purple-leaved type, generally stronger in aroma and often specified where the eugenol character matters. Vana is the wild type. Tea blenders and supplement brands usually have a preference; buyers who do not should ask for a sample of Rama and Krishna, because the difference is obvious in the cup.
Eugenol, rosmarinic acid and ursolic acid
Those three are what a supplement formulator specifies against when tulsi is bought as more than a tea. Eugenol carries the clove-like aroma; rosmarinic and ursolic acids are the fractions named in nutraceutical specifications.
