Who sources this ingredient
Hay, pellets, cubes, meal and leaf powder
Alfalfa ships in five quite different formats and the choice is driven by handling as much as by nutrition. Baled hay is the traditional format for on-farm feeding. Dehydrated pellets and cubes suit mechanised feeding and store better. Meal goes into compound feed. Leaf powder is the superfood-grade product and sells into supplements rather than feed at all, and our leaf powder line covers that separately.
18-22% protein, 25-30% fibre
Crude protein runs 18 to 22% on a dry basis with crude fibre at 25 to 30% and moisture held at or below 12%. Those three figures are what a ration formulator builds around. MOQ on this line is 500 kg rather than the 100 kg most of the catalog carries, because forage moves in volumes where a smaller order is not meaningful. Send us the ration rather than just asking for a price and we will say which format fits it.
