Who sources this ingredient
Raw resin, resin powder and guggulipid
Raw oleo-gum resin goes to traditional manufacturers and to buyers who process themselves. Resin powder is the milled form. Guggulipid is the standardised lipid extract and is what supplement formulators mean when they specify guggul, carrying guggulsterones Z and E at 2.5% or 10% by HPLC. The three are priced very differently, so naming the form is the first thing on a guggul enquiry.
Commiphora wightii is a slow-growing resin
Guggul is tapped from a slow-growing desert shrub and supply is genuinely constrained, which shows up as price volatility rather than as unavailability. Buyers running a fixed formulation should talk to us about a contract rather than spot buying, because the spot market on this item moves more than on almost anything else in the catalog. MOQ 25 kg with a COA on every lot.
