Who sources this ingredient
Himalayan spikenard root and rhizome
Jatamansi is the root and rhizome of Nardostachys jatamansi, a high-altitude Himalayan plant, and it is genuinely scarce rather than merely expensive. It is used in Ayurvedic formulation and, as spikenard, in perfumery, where the essential oil is the valued form. We supply root powder, essential oil and extract at a 25 kg minimum.
A protected species, so documentation matters
Wild Himalayan jatamansi is under conservation pressure and its trade is regulated, which is not a detail a buyer can afford to skip. Ask any supplier where the material comes from and what paperwork accompanies it, and expect a straight answer. We supply with a Certificate of Analysis on every lot and will confirm the sourcing position in writing at enquiry rather than leaving it to be discovered at a border.
