Who sources this ingredient
Root powder, standardised and spray dried extract
Root powder is the traditional and volume form and is what Ayurvedic manufacturers take. Standardised extract goes to supplement brands buying a stated saponin level. Spray-dried extract is chosen where a free-flowing, readily soluble powder is needed for capsules or blends. Organic is available across the range at a 50 kg minimum.
Shatavarosides, the steroidal saponin group
Shatavari is specified on its steroidal saponin content, the shatavaroside group. Buyers formulating to a percentage should send the target and the assay method, since saponin figures vary meaningfully by method and a number that is achievable one way is not always achievable another. Root is the part used and it is stated on the COA, which matters because aerial material is cheaper and reads differently.
